The Colonial Tea Parties – Boston & More! Tea stirred quite the controversy when The Tea Act of 1773 was passed by Parliament to save the British East Indies Company from Bankruptcy and to demonstrate the right of Parliament to tax the Colonists. December 16th, 1773 the “Sons of Liberty” tossed 340 chests of tea into the Boston harbor.

But Boston wasn’t the only Tea Party. Come and learn what other colonies were in a tither over the Tea Act of 1773. 

We will taste examples of the teas that played a role in the Boston Tea Party, while Mike illustrates the events leading up to the Boston Tea Party.  We will cover many similar acts of civil disobedience that occurred throughout the colonies, including several right here in New Jersey.
