Chamomile Flowers –
Matricaria recutita is a well-known blossom in the herbal world and is renowned for its gentle actions. These aromatic plants have white daisy like flowers and scent reminiscent of apples or pineapple. The common name “chamomile” is derived from the Greek word kamai which translates to “on the ground” and melon which means apple.
Uses
Used continually for centuries and known as a gentle herb. Whole chamomile flower is renowned for comforting, soothing and helping to bring peaceful sleep. Therefore, prepared as a tea for calming purposes and to soothe the digestive tract. Chamomile is gentle enough for babies, as well. Soothing to the skin, chamomile is often used in lotions and creams.

Precautions
*As with any herb, if you have any doubt about your compatibility please check with a health or herbal specialist. Preparation
Prepare superior quality water to a near boil and pour over flowers (about a heaping tsp per cup). Brew for 4-5 minutes and strain. The delicate flowers tend to break down, so we use a double-straining technique.
