Rooibos Organic – Oxidized – Caffeine Free

Rooibos Organic - Oxidized... Rooibos is indigenous to South Africa. Some refer to this as Red Rooibos. Red rooibos indicates that it has been oxidized. We offer also an unoxidized version of rooibos (Green Rooibos) This oxidized Rooibos is enjoyed as a non-caffeine alternative to tea. It is full of antioxidants with a mildly earthy flavor, but bold enough for when you want a cuppa without the caffeine.

Much of the health literature reports that Rooibos has a calming effect and acts as an anti-inflammatory. Some sources report that ir  helps relieve hypertension, assists airflow to the lungs and acts as a digestive aid. It is rich in zinc, and high in aspalalathin - which helps balance blood sugar. While this may be what you find in the literature, these findings are not backed by the FDA. To brew rooibos, we recommend using a good quality water at a near boil, and steep for 3-5 minutes. We also like to combine other ingredients to our rooibos to give us variety. If you feel adventurous, try some lemongrass of ginger root. We have also added peppermint and chamomile. The sky is the limit when blending teas.
