Description

Tea Description

From South India, Nilgiri (Blue Hills) region, this is a black tea with a medium body with a long leaf style from Kundaly Estate.  A self-drinking tea can be enjoyed as is and considered a “forgiving” tea – over-steeping does not lead to bitterness. Certified Organic.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN:

India, Nilgiri

Tea Flavor Profile

This tea has a natural sweetness (almost fruity) profile. As the growing season and monsoon seasons are nearly identical, many compare the flavor of Nilgiri Black Tea to Ceylon-grown tea. Use Nilgiri as the base for your kombucha scobi, because the medium-bodied sweetness makes a most flavorful end product.

Nilgiri Black Tea Brewing

Brew one teaspoon leaves to one cup of 205° F good quality water for 4-5 minutes.

Nilgiri tea is one of our favorites because you may brew longer than most black teas, with no worries about becoming overly astringent.

  • Please NOTE: New picture coming soon as this new batch is a full leaf, rather than a Broken Leaf!

*Tea-For-All sources this tea from a certified organic facility. Because Tea-For-All facilities are not certified, we cannot use the USDA certification on our labels.
