Honeybush Organic  – caffeine-free! If you like Rooibos, then you will love our Honeybush Organic – it’s oxidized and naturally sweet. If you are not a fan of Rooibos, don’t rule out this one as you will enjoy the sweet natural honey nectar flavor, without additives.

Honeybush is a cousin plant of the Rooibos plant, indigenous to South Africa.  While being a bit more difficult to cultivate than Rooibos, Honeybush is more often grown wild. This Honeybush is an oxidized, portraying a lovely dark reddish-brown color.

Unsure of what oxidized is? Think Green tea (green color), Black Tea, (rich dark color). The dark color indicates oxidation that occurs during processing after the cell walls are opened (in this case cut) and left exposed to the air. This exposure produces chemical and physical changes to the plant known as oxidation.
