Description

Our Imperial Matcha comes straight from Uji, Japan. It is a ceremonial grade matcha and a true work of artisan-ship. Matcha is unique in many ways. One of the secrets is that, ninety percent of the sun is blocked from the sun (shaded) for several weeks before the spring harvest. This causes a response of overproduction in both chlorophyll and amino acids, which makes matcha an action packed beverage. If you believe in the health benefits of tea, this is all good news.

Once harvested, the leaves are steamed, de-stem, dried and then stored for several months. When ready, the leaves are slowly grinded into a powder. The powder when mixed with water is suspended and consumed, unlike any other tea.

It is packaged immediately after processing in 30 gram bags that are sealed and placed into an airtight tin. Our Imperial Matcha is kept frozen until you place your order, ensuring a fresh tea arrives. We are able to offer this  Imperial ceremonial grade Matcha at the best price possible, because we pick up directly from the purveyor.
