Introduction to the Foundations of Tea

Private or Semi – Private Class

…for those who need to know more about tea, but are on the fence about taking tea certification programs

This is a specialized class that will introduce you to all of the tea types and their nuances, history, origin and processing techniques. We’ll cover cultivar and terroir.  We will introduce cupping while we taste variations on each of the standard tea types and countries of origin. We will discover tea through its history and share some tea lore and dispel some common myths.

Additionally – we will have a tea blending session, where you will be introduced to some of the most common blending ingredients used in tea. We will share two recipes with you that you will make and keep and then we will assist you while you make a blend that speaks to you. This tea you will make and take home as well. We will also discuss packaging tea for sale and tea bagging. All tea and supplies used for the class are included in your class fee. Products will be available for sale for you to continue your adventure.

Four hours of information and hands on experience that you can use to help you decide if you want to move ahead in the tea business and/or your tea education for only $150 per person. This class gives you a dabbling in both the entry levels and advanced levels of formalized tea training and certification.
