Nuo Mi Tuo Cha (Sticky Rice) Shou Puerh is premium dark tea. It is the cream of the crop when it comes to the small individual cup tuo cha’s. This tuo cha (small birds Nest) compressed cakes are slightly larger than most, weighing in at about 5 grams each.

We always recommend shou pu’erh to our coffee drinking friends and clients that are looking to move into the world of tea. (You don’t have to give up your coffee, but it is great to know that there is an alternative that has the body and color of the brewed coffee. The taste of this tuo cha is rich and robust with pleasing flavors that hint at chocolate and pop a hazelnut finish that is simply delightful. Many of our customers have indicated that this brew reminds them of Chinese food. The reason for this is that it is a classic blend of ripe pu-erh and a small amount of “rice scent herb”.  Nuo Mi Xiang herb is a natural herb that grows in Yunnan and it has been mixed in a very small ratio with shou pu-erh to impart a sweet and glutinous taste to the tea.

Brewing:

As with most shou pu’erh you will not sense bitterness even if you brew on the longer side. Remove the gold foil wrap before brewing. Each tuo cha is meant to satisfy several 4-8 oz servings. Brew a very short 1-2 minutes or let it go longer, depending on your taste preferences. Extended brew without bitterness! There are 6  Pu’erh Tuo Cha 5 gram – Premium dark tea minis to each ounce. This tea brews over and over again, providing great value in addition to the wonderful taste.

While this is sometimes unfamiliar to us westerners, pu’erh tuo cha’s have been made in China for hundreds of years. They are basically a green tea that undergoes a fermentation process either using a raw or cooked method. This tuo cha selection is prepared using the cooked or shou method.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Serving estimates under the sizes available in the case of this tea is based on the number of total cups to be made from the entire package. Puerh teas are multiple brew teas therefore the total number of cups that can be made from your order is underestimated. This tuo cha is so flavorful. One lasts me all day long!
